Tennessee football coach Josh Heupel just signed a new contract that will pay him $9 million a year through 2029—including a $1 million bonus if the Vols win a national championship, the Knoxville News Sentinel reports. In his original contract, Heupel could never earn more than $1.2 million in bonuses in a given year. In his amended contract, Heupel can earn up to $300,000 if Tennessee reaches the College Football Playoff but doesn't make it to the championship game. Heupel can also earn $100,000 if Tennessee plays in the SEC Championship Game and $300,000 if the Vols win it. Heupel can also earn $200,000 if Tennessee plays in a New Year's Six Bowl.
