What Ty Lue had to say before the Cavaliers' win-or-go-home Game 6
Fueled by fueled-up Boston fans who must feel some sort of birthright to see their cherished team play in the Finals, the youthful Celtics again showed zero fear or hesitation on their parquet floor on Wednesday night during a 96-83 win in Game 5 that was never in any doubt. Despite shooting only 36 percent, the Celtics improved to 10-0 at home in the playoffs as coach Brad Stevens changed his starting lineup, shortened his rotation to seven and released waves of defenders at James, who looked worn down as he attempts to advance to the NBA Finals for the eighth consecutive year.

4 takeaways from the Celtics' tantalizing Game 5 win over the Cavaliers
Baynes immediately had an impact on the game, blocking a shot from George Hill and grabbing an offensive rebound for a put-back in the opening three minutes of the first quarter. Far too often he was caught throwing his hands in the air, upset at the officials, while the Celtics pushed the ball up the court for transition points on the other end.

The Cavs are cracking, and the Celtics can end the drama in Game 6
He scored 24 points, collected 7 rebounds, dug down for 4 steals in what might have been his best defensive performance as a pro, and knocked down important shots in the fourth quarter when it briefly looked like the Cavs might survive their death rattle. He went into Operation Shutdown late in the game, ripped off his jersey as he left the court, and the next time we saw him, he was telling Jim Gray that yes, indeed he does still bite his nails, and oh, I’m taking my talents to South Beach.

Boston Celtics vs. Cleveland Cavaliers: Marcus Smart is angry & 10 things we learned from Game 5
Smart was typically excellent defensively, and the Celtics utilized his ability to switch onto multiple positions -- including both LeBron James and Tristan Thompson -- to its fullest. Clarkson continuously wastes possessions, and he makes a lot of mistakes on the defensive end (witness him flying in to hang on the rim for a failed put back in the second half, which led to a transition basket by the Celtics).

Why has home-court been so important to the Celtics and Cavs?
After the Celtics’ 96-83 win in Game 5, players on both sides reflected on the heightened importance of home-court advantage in this Eastern Conference finals. Addressing the media after Game 5, the Celtics were unaninimous in crediting the TD Garden faithful for the uptick in their performances there.

Marcus Morris on what could have sparked Larry Nance Jr.'s shove: 'I definitely can’t say that on the camera'
Nance was attempting to field an alley-oop pass from LeBron James, when Morris came from behind to break up the play and tip the ball out of bounds. His words seemingly sparked a fury in Nance, who got up and shoved Morris as he was walking away.

Basketball Daily Dose: Dose: Jayson Tater Tots
Tristan Thompson, George Hill, and J.R Smith combined to hit just 2-of-14 shots, and only Jeff Green came through off the bench with eight points, five boards and a 3-pointer. Klay Thompson (left knee) is questionable for Thursday’s Game 5 against the Rockets, who tied their series against GSW at 2-2 on Tuesday.

LeBron James shows off uncanny memory with precise recall of all six Game 5 turnovers
James and the Cleveland Cavaliers looked discombobulated going up against the younger, more spry Boston Celtics in Game 5. The Cavs shot 42% from the field, hit just 9-of-34 three-pointers (26.5%) and coughed the ball up 15 times in comparison to the Celtics’ eight miscues.
