Senior trio earns all-region laurels
NEW ORLEANS (May 14) – The California University of Pennsylvania senior trio of Julie Friend (Markleysburg, Pa./Uniontown), Summer Hill (Honesdale, Pa./Honesdale), and Kailah Holmes (Hatfield, Pa./North Penn) combined to receive U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) all-region honors seven times on Monday afternoon. She broke her own school record in the event at the league championships with a NCAA provisional mark of 12.07 meters (39-7-.25 feet), which ranks as third-best distance in the region this spring.

Friend earns title in 5K; Cal U finishes fifth
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. (May 5) – Senior Julie Friend (Markleysburg, Pa./Uniontown) claimed the league title in the 5,000-meter run for the third time in her career on Saturday, as the California University of Pennsylvania women's track & field team finished fifth overall at the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships. Senior Kailah Holmes (Hatfield, Pa./North Penn) broke her own school record in the triple jump and earned All-PSAC status for the second time in her career.

Fehr, Schultz Win Events on Day Two of PSAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships
The freshman took the lead on the backstretch and won by a comfortable margin over second place Summer Hill of California(Pa.). Halle Lienhart completed day two of the heptathlon, finishing in 12th place with 3,475 points, a personal high.

Hill named to PSAC Winter Top 10
To be eligible for the PSAC Top 10 Awards, a student-athlete must have achieved a minimum of a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) and must be a starter or key reserve with legitimate athletic credentials for their respective team. Hill is a two-time College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-American and has garnered the Most Outstanding Track Athlete at the PSAC Championships three times in her career.

Friend reaches third provisional mark of season
Sophomore Erin Meckler ( Boiling Springs, Pa./Cumberland Valley) recorded a top-10 finish in the high jump by placing sixth with a height of 1.55 meters (5-1.00 feet) on her third attempt. The Vulcans return to competition on Saturday, April 21, when they compete at the Battler Invitational hosted by Alderson Broaddus in Philippi, West Virginia.

Redshirt-senior Danielle Sciremammano of the Shippensburg University women's indoor track & field team was named Thursday afternoon to the 2017-18 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Winter Top 10 squad as announced by the league office. With the selections of Sciremammano and Alex Balla (also named Thursday), Shippensburg maintains the lead among conference institutions with 65 all-time PSAC Top 10 recipients – the league honor was first awarded in the fall of 1997.
