Hamilton Bulldogs eliminated in Memorial Cup semifinal
The Regina Pats downed the Bulldogs 4-2 in the Memorial Cup semifinal on Friday night, bringing to an end an OHL championship-winning campaign that surpassed expectations for the Hamilton club. The game was a repeat of the tournament opener — a 3-2 Hamilton loss in which the Bulldogs struggled to keep pace with the well-rested Pats, who were playing for the first time since being eliminated from the playoffs 46 days earlier.

Defence optional in Titan’s Memorial Cup win over Pats
REGINA—Noah Dobson, Jeffrey Truchon-Viel and Ethan Crossman had two goals apiece and the Acadie-Bathurst Titan held off the host Regina Pats 8-6 on Sunday night to earn a berth in Friday’s semifinal at the Memorial Cup. Humboldt Broncos goaltender Jacob Wassermann, a survivor of the April 6 bus crash that killed 16 people, was in attendance and received a standing ovation in the first period.
