What the Celtics and Cavs had to say ahead of Game 5
BOSTON (AP) — The Celtics expected to see a different LeBron James in Cleveland after the Cavaliers fell into a 2-0 hole to open the Eastern Conference finals. But a team that has thrived on youth this postseason suddenly looks disoriented without a go-to player and opposite a more veteran squad that has found a new attitude thanks to the fuel being provided by its biggest star.

What the Patriots' backup quarterbacks had to say about practicing without Tom Brady
Three months after losing the Super Bowl to the Philadelphia Eagles, the Patriots held their second organized team activity on Tuesday — without Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski. “It’s been really hard to get accustomed to a new team and learn everybody’s name,” rookie Danny Etling, a seventh-round draft choice who hopes to follow Brady as New England’s starting quarterback, said when asked if he had communicated with the three-time NFL MVP yet.

Mookie Betts, Chris Sale lead Red Sox to 4-2 win over Rays
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — Mookie Betts hit his major league-leading 16th homer, Chris Sale struck out nine in 7 2/3 innings and the Boston Red Sox beat the Tampa Bay Rays 4-2 on Tuesday night. Joe Kelly finished the eighth, and Craig Kimbrel got into a bases-loaded jam before getting his 14th save in 16 chances when Mallex Smith grounded into a game-ending forceout on his 32nd pitch of the ninth.

What Isiah Thomas had to say about the Celtics-Cavs series
But his point is that the Celtics have yet to take command of a contest since giving the Cavaliers a good ol’ fashioned beatdown in Game 1. Thomas, who won two NBA titles with the Detroit Pistons, said the Celtics lacked patience at times in Game 4.

Devin McCourty described experiencing subtle racism before he became famous
McCourty has gone on to be one of the most outspoken players in the NFL against racial injustice and even lobbied for aspects of the recent criminal justice reform bill signed into law in Massachusetts. As a team captain, McCourty said teammates came to him last fall to ask how to respond to President Donald Trump’s inflammatory attacks on the NFL and its players — Colin Kaepernick, specifically — for kneeling during the national anthem in protest of the treatment of black people by law enforcement in the United States.

Patriots add two assistants to coaching staff
While the big news centered around a couple of guys who weren’t in Foxborough for the start of Phase 3 of the Patriots offseason program Monday — quarterback Tom Brady and tight end Rob Gronkowski — the team did announce two additions to Bill Belichick’s staff. Achord replaces Bubba Ventrone, who took the head special teams coaching position with the Colts.

What Boston sports radio is saying about Tom Brady missing OTAs
Theories thrown out there include a rift between Brady and Belichick, contract demands that are going unmet, or simply shifting priorities for the quarterback and his family. So he thinks it’s hard for him put that aside and just show up with a smile on his face and a bounce in his step when he still feels like Guerrero is not getting the respect or the credit he deserves.
