What Ty Lue had to say before the Cavaliers' win-or-go-home Game 6
Fueled by fueled-up Boston fans who must feel some sort of birthright to see their cherished team play in the Finals, the youthful Celtics again showed zero fear or hesitation on their parquet floor on Wednesday night during a 96-83 win in Game 5 that was never in any doubt. Despite shooting only 36 percent, the Celtics improved to 10-0 at home in the playoffs as coach Brad Stevens changed his starting lineup, shortened his rotation to seven and released waves of defenders at James, who looked worn down as he attempts to advance to the NBA Finals for the eighth consecutive year.

No help for LeBron James means no chance for the Cavs against the Celtics
Stevens reinstated 6-foot-10 center Aron Baynes into Boston’s starting lineup and used forward Marcus Morris off the bench in an effort to match Cleveland’s size and strength on the interior, in addition to giving his perimeter shooters more life throughout the game. Cleveland is making 9.6 three-point attempts per game against the Celtics in the Eastern Conference finals, fewer than the team made against the Toronto Raptors (11.5) or Indiana Pacers (10.4).

4 takeaways from the Celtics' tantalizing Game 5 win over the Cavaliers
Baynes immediately had an impact on the game, blocking a shot from George Hill and grabbing an offensive rebound for a put-back in the opening three minutes of the first quarter. Far too often he was caught throwing his hands in the air, upset at the officials, while the Celtics pushed the ball up the court for transition points on the other end.

Basketball Daily Dose: Dose: Jayson Tater Tots
Tristan Thompson, George Hill, and J.R Smith combined to hit just 2-of-14 shots, and only Jeff Green came through off the bench with eight points, five boards and a 3-pointer. Klay Thompson (left knee) is questionable for Thursday’s Game 5 against the Rockets, who tied their series against GSW at 2-2 on Tuesday.

Celtics trip up LeBron James, push Cavaliers to the brink of elimination with Game 5 win
In Cleveland, LeBron James received scoring help from George Hill, J.R. Smith, Kyle Korver, Larry Nance Jr. and Tristan Thompson. Cleveland’s starting backcourt of George Hill and J.R. Smith were 2-for-11 from the field and combined for nine points – similar to their poor production in the first two games of the series.
