The interview remains critical in the NBA draft process
CHICAGO (AP) — The elevator stopped at the 16th floor of the swanky hotel, and after a few nervous steps down the hallway a soon-to-be professional athlete was ready to face perhaps the most unpredictable part of the NBA draft process. "So accurate," said Brian Bowen, who eventually removed himself from draft consideration but will still seek a pro career since the NCAA isn't granting the former Louisville recruit eligibility at South Carolina for the 2018-19 season.

Sixers reportedly believe Bryan Colangelo on Twitter accounts but are still mulling his fate
With a talent base including Embiid and Ben Simmons, the salary cap space to sign a superstar free agent, the assets to trade for another and the 10th pick in this month’s NBA draft, Philadelphia is facing one of the most impactful offseasons in franchise history. Among internal candidates to promote to running the show on the front office side, the most likely nominee is former Washington Wizards executive Marc Eversley, Philadelphia’s vice president of player personnel.

Lakers and Clippers have some decisions to make after exits before postseason
None make it any easier to watch Los Angeles sitting while Western Conference teams from smaller markets like Minneapolis and Portland and New Orleans are still flying those balloons. Lakers forward Julius Randle shares a laugh with teammate Josh Hart after the guard hit a three-pointer, helping lead the team past the Clippers in the second half.

Draft Preview: Mock Draft, Volume Two
Porter’s status on draft boards was hurt by the back injury suffered prior to the start of last season; he was viewed as the top recruit in the 2017 class ahead of the likes of Ayton, Bagley and Mohamed Bamba. Robinson shot the ball well at all three levels last season, including 40.9 percent from three, and he could fit in well with a rotation that doesn’t lack for playmakers (Ben Simmons, Markelle Fultz) but could use another shooter with JJ Redick set to be a free agent.

Bruce Arthur: LeBron James doesn’t break anymore
If you could apply enough pressure, and if you could keep him from breathing life into his teammates — well, even people close to the Cavaliers organization figured there was a point at which LeBron could be made to start thinking about whatever the hell is next. The Celtics thought the same thing, and they came a hell of a lot closer than the Raptors did, and as Boston coach Brad Stevens said, “he still had 35.

What the Cavs had to say about winning Game 7 at TD Garden
After the victory, LeBron James and his teammates acknowledged their opponents and the difficulty of winning a series decider at the TD Garden. When you’re playing a team like [the Celtics], it’s hard to really game plan who you want to take away because the other guy can hurt you.

Another NBA Finals brings another huge challenge for LeBron
BOSTON (AP) — LeBron James will get a couple days to catch his breath, then make his annual June journey to Golden State or down to Houston to face a team far better than his. Kyrie Irving had been traded to Boston in the offseason, Isaiah Thomas, Dwyane Wade and Derrick Rose weren't the answers as his replacement, and Kevin Love missed significant time with injuries.

Letters: Enough of the star-spangled banter?
To support owners who routinely treat their employees as chattel brings to mind a conversation I had last season on the subject of players kneeling during the anthem. It is an absurd notion that the same players and front office that came within one game of winning the World Series last year are suddenly now incompetent.
